Abstract:The extrusion of mixed feedstocks(binder plus powder) are discussed in detail. The extrusion flow generally can be divided into: convergent flow, axial layer-flow and uniform flow, and the swell behaviour. The flow mechanism and the features of the various rheologic regions are examined. Some rheologic characteristics of the melting feedstocks in the flow processes are analysed and the melting-matter flow behaviors in the full-developing region which directly effects the extruded product qualities are studied stressly. As a result of the analyses of the flow behaviours and features of the full-developing region, a simple practical physical model is offered, and some mathematical functions describing rheologic behavior are presented.Correspondent: Zhou Jicheng, Associate Professor, National Key Laboratory for Powder Metallurgy, Central South University ofTechnology, Changsha 410083, P.
