Described a novel method for producing high purity potassium silver cyanide [KAg (CN)2] that uses silver oxide [Ag2O] as an intermediate and crude silver as a silver source (surplus silver from silver nitrate production). To obtain high quality product, the evaporation of water from the KAg (CN)2 solution should be carefully controlled.
