Due to the intriguing intrinsic mechanical and functional properties, graphene has attracted extensive attention in the metal matrix composites as a novel ideal inforcement. In this work, the preparation methods of graphene reinforced Cu matrix composites are firstly reviewed, then the research status of improving the graphene dispersivity along with the interface bonding between graphene and copper matrix is summerized. At last, the potential applications and future research directions of graphene reinforced copper matrix composites are pointed out.
