    Abstract:

Ti/Al metal layered composites were prepared by ultrasonic consolidation test. The microstructure of the material was observed by optical microscope The laminar composites containing different volume fraction were prepared by hot pressing reaction. The phase composition of the reaction products was determined by EDS. Through SEM measurement of Al3Ti thickness between layers, to establish the relationship between the Al3Ti concentration and reaction time. The study shows that the intermetallic compound Al3Ti is the only product in the process of in situ reaction of Ti/Al layered composites when the Al is not completely reacted. At the initial stage of in situ reaction, the accumulation of the reaction products is slow. As the reaction time goes on, the reaction products increase and the growth rate of the reaction products increases gradually. The relationship between the reaction product and the reaction time is a power exponential function.
