    Abstract:

The effect of phase composition of tungsten oxide on the homogeneity of ultrafine tungsten powder has been studied using a conventional hydrogen reduction technique. The results show that ultrafine and homogeneous tungsten powder can be produced from single phase tungsten oxide. The tungsten powder made by multi phase oxides may be fine , but not homogenous due to differences between the reduction rates (or redution paths) of various oxides.
