    Abstract:

Quasi-static, dynamic and high-temperature tension experiments for the composite TP-650 were carried out by MTS-810, bar-bar tensile impact apparatus (SHTB) and Instron-1195 machine, respectively. The coupling effects of temperature and strain rate on the mechanical properties of TiC particle reinforced titanium matrix composite TP-650 were investigated. The results show that the TP-650 composite has excellent mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, even at 650 oC. At room temperature, TP-650 composite has higher strength and lower toughness than the matrix. TP-650 composite shows positive strain rate sensitivity below the strain rate of 1000 s-1. Based on the experiment results, the rheological mechanics model of TP-650 composite was established with Arrhenius equation in the form of hyperbolic sine function, and the model prediction agreed with the experimental results.
