    Abstract:

    High Nb containing TiAl based alloy has more excellent mechanical properties than tranditional TiAl based alloy, but ω phase which is a hard and brittle phase in as-cast, as-worked and thermal exposured high Nb containing TiAl based alloy in the range of service temperature is bad for the improvement of mechanical propeties and limits the further application of high Nb containing TiAl based alloy. The progress in research on ω phase in high Nb containing TiAl based alloy is summarized. Mechanism of ω phase formation, microstructure morphology, the effcte on menchanical properties and elimination of ω phase in high Nb containing based alloy are discussed.
