    Abstract:

Thermal oxidation (TO) process was employed to treat TC4 alloy. Corrosive wear behavior of the TO treated TC4 alloy in simulated oilfield medium was investigated. The results showed that the obtained TO layer was mainly composed of rutile TiO2 phase. The TO layer presented higher surface hardness and lower mass loss values and specific wear rate. TO treatment had significantly improve the resistance to corrosive wear of TC4 alloy.
