    Abstract:

A series of Ti-based bulk metallic glass composites (BMGCs) and a Ti-based bulk metallic glass were prepared by arc melting, and the effect of Be contents on the wear performance was investigated. The results show that the decrease in Be content in the composites increases the volume fraction of dendrites in BMGCs; the increase in the volume fraction of dendrites reduces the coefficient of friction, but increases the wear ratio slightly. All the worn surfaces show abrasive wear, and the size of wear debris is decreased with increasing the volume fraction of dendrites.
