A new high strength, high toughness and high dmage-tolerant TC21 titanium alloy, designed and developed in Northwest Institute for Nonferrous Metal Research,is introduced. The results show that the new alloy has stable mechanical properties through the further research from laboratory to industrial scale. TC21 possesses good match among strength, plasticity, fracture toughness and d a /d N , which has a good promising for applications.
