Abstract:The history of TiB2 coating by electroplating in molten salt selection of molten salt, process and plating parameters, and electrochemical technology are introduced. The mechanism of the electrochemical reduction of B ion and Ti ion, and the mechanism of the electrochemical synthesis of TiB2 in different molten systems are discussed. Research status of TiB2 inertia cathode material in the aluminum electrolysis industry is reviewed. And feasibility of preparation of TiB2 coating on the graphite electrode in molten salt is analyzed at last.
