Abstract:Cytotoxicity of novel implant material modified by microarc oxidation technique has been investigated in this study. The cells configulation was observed on different surfaces evaluated for 2 d, 4 d and 6 d. The results showed that the cell attachment, morphology and proliferation were influenced by the different surface treatments, and a significant increase of the osteoblast cell activity was observed on the porous MAO-Ti coating. Based on these results, it was suggested that the porous MAO-Ti surface has a better biocompatibility and an excellent electrochemical performance than pure titanium surface treatments.
